A non governmental organization, Bungudu concerned citizens group in collaboration with security agencies in the area has organized one day public awareness on security matters in Bungudu local government area of zamfara state.
Speaking at the events Emir of Bungudu Alh Hassan Attahiru charged people in the area to be vigilant and contribute their quoter for the sustainance of peace in the area and state in General.
He warned parents to always monitor the movement of their wards and report any questionable character to the security agencies, Alh Hassan Attahiru who praised Bungudu concerned citizens group for the initiatives commended the of security agencies for their tireless in restoring peace.
The police Divisional officer Bungudu Division SP Shem Dada Yahya Parenting a paper titled Roles of Community in sustaining peace and security, identified some of the protection measures and contributions expected from community in fighting against criminality.
SP Shem Dauda said the programme initiated by the concerned group was in line with community policing system in tackling insecurity bedevilled the country
.
In his welcome address earlier the coordinator Bungudu concerned citizens group comrade Masaud Ibrahim Bungudu said the aim of the programme is to complement government efforts in war against insecurity and to sensitized the people on security.
He said the group had committed in public awareness, stakeholders consultations, in the area of security, Education, Health, for the betterment of people in the area.
An Prominent Islamic scholar in the area Imam NASIR Bala, from code of conduct Bureau presented a paper titled the impacts of skills acquisition in sustaining peace and stability in the community,
In their separates goodwill massages heads of civil defence, DSS, highlighted on the actions to be taken by the community in fighting against criminal activities in their areas,
They cautioned people to desist from travelling in the morning and evenings hours and extra careful with strangers.
The event was attended by politicians, traditional rulers, religious leaders ,business men, farmers as well as students, youth and Women groups across the area.
