The commissioner of women affairs Dr Nafisa Maradun told the Nigeria medical association Zamfara chapter that, they have two members representative, Dr Nafisa Maradun and her colleague Dr Zainab M Z Anka, appointed by Governor Dr Dauda Lawal to served in his cabinet as commissioners.


 This comes after their nomination by Governor Dr Dauda Lawal to serve in these critical positions. It is worth noting that this is the first time that two female doctors have been nominated as members of the State Executive Council, responsible for overseeing the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Dr Bello Kotorkoshi, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre Gusau, spoke highly of the nominated Medical Doctors, expressing his confidence in their abilities. He believed that Governor Dauda made the right choice in selecting them and anticipated positive transformations in the ministries they oversee.

In his remarks Dr.Bello Muhammad Kotorkoshi urged all members of the Medical Association serving in the state to provide support to the Commissioners. He also advised the Executive Council members to seek assistance from NMA members whenever needed.

Additionally, Dr. Kotorkoshi used the opportunity to appeal to the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to extend their social welfare and social responsibility programs to the victims of banditry, as his Medical Centre frequently receives casualties resulting from such incidents.
