The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Zamfara state branch, has honored seven (7) legal luminaries in the state with awards.
The awardees were. presented with their respective certificates of awards during the association's 2022 Law Week, held at the Command Gusest House in Gusau, the state capital.
According to the association's official sources, the awards were in various categories presented to them in recognition of their selfless services, achievements and active roles in the NBA activities.
The awardees are Hon. Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba (JSC), a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the Chief Judge of Zamfara state, Hon. Justice Kulu Aliyu (OFR) and Hon. Abdulaziz Sani Muhammed (SAN) honoured with "Award of Excellence", respectively.
Other awardees are the Secretary of ICPC, Prof.Musa Usman Abubakar, Shawa'anatu Muh'd Ahmad (Esq.), A.A. Jibrin (Esq.) and Kamaluddeen Muh zeeammad (Esq.).
They bagged "Outstanding Achievement Award" and "Active Membership Awards", respectively.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Gusau NBA chapter chairman, Junaidu Abubakar Esq. said the Law Week is an annual event for NBA branches across Nigeria while the national body conducts Annual General Conference.
He explained that the objectives of the annual event include exploring the significance of lawyers, making consultations with different segments of the society, prayers and physical games.
He added that the annual Law Week would features series of lectures and conferences on the cordial working relationship between the association and the executive, the Judiciary and the Legislative Arms of Government.
Junaidu Esq. called on lawyers to always be honest in discharging their professional conducts, advising them further that they should also make cheaper charges for their professional services.
