Ahead of 2024 budget, the Zamfara state ministry of budget and economic planning has today held a town hall meeting with stakeholders, NGOS, civil society organisations and traditional rulers across the state.
Addressing the participants during the meeting, the commissioner of budget and economic planning, Hon Abdulmalik Garba Gajam said, the essence of this town hall meeting is to hear the views of people in the state about the government activities especially traditional rulers because they are more closer to the people.
According to him the government under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal cannot do anything without contacting the traditional rulers, adding that, the government is ever ready to listing the complaints of each and every particular community across the fourteen Local government areas of the state.
The government will hear the complaints and the needs of people on which type of projects they choose, and the government is ready to execute it for them.
Gajam further emphasised that, t every Local Government or community will come forward and explain what type of project they want, and we will use the data to propose our budget, because we can't choose projects to the any local government or community they are the one to choose them by themselves.
In his Goodwill massage the Emir of Kaura namoda Major Sanusi Muhammad Ahmad Asha commended the ministry of budget and economic planning for organising this town hall meeting, he advised the government of Zamfara state to give priority on security, youth empowerment and promote businesses sector in the state.
Major Sanusi Muhammad appealed to the state government to mordenize and re construct Kaura namoda market considering the fact that Kaura namoda is a commercial town since colonial era.
The event was witnessed by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alh Garba Ahmad Dauran, Director budget Alh Sani Abubakar Bukkuyum, Director monitoring and evaluation Alh Mukthar among others.
