ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT TO ESTABLISH THREE QUR'ANIC CENTERS, CONSTRUCT NEW CLASSROOMS, RENOVATES OTHERS.

Zamfara State Government has identified dilapidating schools that require urgent attention and intervention by the state government to be renovated and brought back to function for the betterment of the state and its populace across the fourteen local government areas of the state.

Commissioner, Ministry of Education Science and Technology Malam Wadatau Madawaki mada the pronouncement during a meeting with Better Education Service Delivery For All BESDA Team management held at the conference Hall of the Headquarter Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, ZSUBEB, Gusau.

According the statement, the Commissioner of Education said,  Governor Dauda Lawali  the state will ensure judicious use the reward money received by the State Government on BESDA program especially for the construction of new classrooms, renovation and establishing  three Qur'anic Center in the three zones of the state namely Gusau,Kaura Namoda and Gummi local government areas.

Malam Wadatau Madawaki added that the present administration of governor Dauda Lawal attached priority on education beside security, saying his ministry has made all arrangements for the training and retraining of teachers especially basic Education and he commended the effects of BESDA management team for ensuring that zamfara State is among the best in the seven state of the BESDA program.
  
He said, the objective of the meeting was to have a clear understanding of BESDA Implementation in state, To also learn about the benefits of BESDA activities and achievements, Discuss on the sustainability plan activities and To identify the best strategies for the implementation of the plan activities.

In his welcome Come address the acting chairman Aminu Musa kanoma represented by Director school services Garba Abdullahi said, BESDA is a World Bank initiative which aims at increasing equitable access for out-of-school children in Nigeria and improve literacy in focus states, and strengthen accountability for results, in basic education in Nigeria.

This operation is well aligned with the World Bank Group's 2014 Nigeria country partnership strategy (CPS), as well as its adjustment under the 2016 performance and learning review (PLR). 

The acting chairman said, the program-for-results  instrument is considered the best fit to support the government's Universal Basic Education program; ensure a focus on education outputs and outcomes; and incentivize performance at all levels. By focusing on an agreed set of results, yet allowing flexibility and incentivizing home-grown solutions (to respond to specific needs) at the state and local levels.
