NUJ ZONE A CONDOLENCE ZAMFARA COUNCIL, AND CALL FOR ACTION MURR OF VETERANS JOURNALIST DANJIBGA

We received with great shock and regret the murder of a veteran journalist in your council, Malam Hamisu Danjibga who was declared missing a few days ago.

On behalf of all the Journalists in the zone (Northwest) led by the Vice President Malam Tukur Muhammad Umar, we wish to register our heartfelt condolences to Zamfara State Council, his family, his employer the Voice of Nigeria (VON) as well as the government and people of Zamfara State.

According to the statement said, records available to the Zonal office indicate that Late Danjibga was an agile and dedicated reporter of reputable media organizations who played a key role as a journalist to ensure development in various human endeavors and was very religious.

Please accept our condolences as we share common pains for his assassination. We console you and his immediate family.

However, we call on the security agencies as a matter of responsibility to delve into the issue, investigate and bring to book the perpetrators of this brutal, callous and inhuman action.

NUJ ZAMFARA : CALL FOR THOROUGH INVESTIGATION ON DEATH OF VETERAN JOURNALIST: HAMISU DANJIBGA

Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists regret to announce the death of Hamisu Danjibga a reporter with Voice of Nigeria (VON) whose body was found in a sock away behind his house three days after missing.

The discovery of his corpse was as result of unpleasant odor observed by Islamiya Children in the evening of Wednesday 20th September,2023 who drew the attention of their teachers.

After breaking the sock away the dead body was confirmed to be that of Danjibga by his family and some neighbors. His funeral rites have since been observed according to Islamic injunctions.

The Union extends it heartfelt condolence to the family, Voice of Nigeria and entire Zamfara state.

The Council while expressing deep concern over the nature of Danjibga's demise,appealed to security agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to justice.
